Chapter 16 - Untitled

Dib sat across from Tak and Zim. Zim was holding Tak very close to him and she looked somewhat uncomfortable. She would randomly shift positions for no apparent reason, but she didn't really look that unhappy. They sat in silence for a very long time. Dib was getting irritated with Zim. All he was doing was looking around nervously.

"Can you just get on with it already?" he suddenly burst out, apparently surprising the Irkens across from him. Or maybe just Zim. Tak looked like it hadn't actually surprised her all that much.

"I really don't-"

"Too bad!" Tak cut him off.

"Okay!fine,"

Zim began explaining everything starting with the last call e made with the tallest. He paused at random pints or sometimes asked if he could stop. They always told him he wasn't aloud to. He felt stupid telling Dib all this. It was a stupid thing to become that depressed over. It was finally over and he stopped.

"Keep going." Dib sounded annoyed.

"That was the end, Filthy Earth Pig!"

"Oh," he paused. "Well, I guess I sort of understand,"

"No you don't, your no where near smart-"

"Yes I do! okay, there. I get it. You're rejected and no one likes you. Your whole planet thinks your insane, and no one ever forgives you for the mistakes you make," He said very fast. "Gee, who else in this room besides you has that same problem!" he said  sarcastically, but still annoyed.

Zim didn't say anything. Dib did understand, but he didn't have to admit it. He kissed the top of Tak's head and she shifted positions again.

"Stop it," she told him quietly.

"Why?" he asked, turning his face so it he was looking directly at her.

Tak put her claw over his face. "Because I said so," she said, pushing his face away.

There was a long moment of silence before any one said or did anything again. Dib looked bored. He wasn't expecting to go into this part of the base. He wanted to see the labs, not Zim's other living room. He also didn't exactly want to sit on the floor while Zim and Tak cuddled on the couch. That last part disturbed him a little bit. He was also getting annoyed with the silence. Tak looked a little annoyed with Zim for some reason. She was so upset before, but was obviously uncomfortable now. Maybe because he was there? He couldn't tell. Maybe she just didn't want to be that close to Zim right now.

"So..." Dib said in an attempt to break the silence. It obviously didn't work when no one responded. He thought of something else that might get them to talk. Or maybe show him a way out. "Okay," Dib said as he stood up. "I'm just going to go look around the base now, maybe steal a few things, or blow it up or-"

"Shut up, Dib," Tak said, sounding annoyed.

"Okay, Tak, your acting really weird today. One second your all worried about Zim the next you hate him. What the-"

"I don't hate him,"

"Quit cutting me off!"

Zim didn't seem to care. He actually wanted to know why Tak was acting this way too.

"Just why then?"

Tak sighed. "Because, I don't think that I should be staying with Zim or  be this close to him," she said slowly.

"Why?" Zim asked abruptly.

"You know it's not right. Or at least, you should. If you don't it's because, incase you haven't noticed, Irkens are not sapose to like each other as more than friends!" Tak told him. "And it's still not right for me to live in your base, so I thought if I left you alone for a while you would be more used to it when I leave."

"Your leaving?" Zim sounded worried.

"Not now but, yes I am,"

Zim just stared at her with huge, pleading eyes.

"Stop,"
He continued staring.
"Stop! I'm not staying forever!"

He looked at her that way for a long time. Tak looked like she was ready to punch him. She clenched her hand into a tight fist. More time passed. Dib was becoming slightly amused. Tak unclenched her fist and her expression softened.

"Just stop, okay? It's not right and you know it,"

"Since when have I ever done anything that was right?"

"For you, never."

"And I have nothing to lose. As for you, your not getting off this planet without a ship. And I want you here so you're not using mine. Your escape pod was taken by some freakish alien loving people, and I have no idea where your ship is,"

Dib's face went white. How long would it take them to find out Dib had Tak's ship? Zim already knew, but he had probably forgotten. Or, he thought he had until Zim suddenly remembered.

"Oh yea, Dib has your ship,"

Tak glared at him. "I'll be mad at you later, Dib," She said. "right now, you need to leave,"

"Why?"

"Because," She said, struggling to get out of Zim's arms. She finally did and pushed Dib into the elevator and set it so that it would take him up to the top level.

"Leave when you get up there or I'll send mimi up to get you," Tak threatened him. Dib knew better than to disobey her. Her robot actually worked, unlike Zim's. He came up through the trash can and walked out he door.
